Lighthouses – those quintessential keepers of the coast have been a long-standing guardian of entrances to safe harbor. The Outer Banks – a well-known group of barrier islands just off of the North Carolina mainland have a series of lighthouses from the northern end at Currituck, to the southern end at Cape Lookout. The two northern lighthouses, Currituck and Bodie Island; are the first in a series of images that will showcase all of these sentinels that have withstood the test of time.
